THE BRIEF

Following the previous HSBC London Sevens, CSM Sport & Entertainment wanted to take the HSBC Customer Lounge to the next level for the 2019 tournament and, with agency Creative Midfield, turned to Arcstream to deliver. 

HSBC customers in the customer lounge were entertained by the 86” touchscreen presented by some of Rugby’s biggest names; Bryan Habana, David Flatman, Ben Ryan, James Haskell, Danielle “Nolli” Waterman, Brian O’Driscoll and Maggie Alphonsi all led their own demonstrations with the touchscreen to a crowd of rugby fans.

THE RESULTS

ENGAGED FANS AND A BUZZING ATMOSPHERE

We created a bespoke app to showcase some of the most nail-biting moments from HSBC Sevens World Series history, led by the sportsmen and cheered by onlooking fans. The rugby veterans were able to pause, rewind and focus in on the most impressive moments of each try, be it a player, series highlight or even clips from previous days’ action.

The app was created in two stages; a presenter mode complete with HSBC’s official branding, and a corresponding content-based app decked out with replay clips and complete statistics. This offered the hosts the ability to switch easily between different content types as they analysed and critiqued their favourite Sevens’ moments.

The reaction in the customer lounge was fantastic – the fans were engaged with the activations and the atmosphere was buzzing. The client was more than satisfied with the touchscreen analysis tool as well as the input from the Arcstream team.
