When you are asked to collaborate with an elite retailer like Selfridges, you know you have to come up with something really special. Working with Polar Black Events, we created an exclusive event for Cartier to compliment a stunning temporary showroom in Selfridges for invited guests.
As guests arrived they were treated to a sensory experience, walking through a darkened corridor, before being led into a vault and through to a 5m x 1.7m interactive floor covered in diamonds, installed by the Arcstream team. By using our own bespoke software application, with a laser radar device for motion detection, we could make the diamonds disappear as the guests walked on the surface, before reappearing for the next guest’s entrance.
A 3m x 4m high 3.9mm pitch LED video wall, which also used a bespoke app, meant that the diamonds could be gestured away (by a bell boy of course) to trigger the start of a Cartier film. To complete the experience, we installed an interactive 42” multi-action screen. Loaded with a showcase of photographs, products and marketing material, guests could explore the content in their own time.
