Working with iD Experiential, we helped create a series of interactive cycle simulators to raise awareness, create lasting excitement and educate the public about the East Village development, transforming the Olympic Athlete Village.
Using a creative brief, we built the simulator known as the POD. Visitors were encouraged to take 3D virtual tours around East Village viewed on a 55” interactive screen mounted onto the front of the POD. Using a fixed Pashley bike with a range of hidden sensors, the bike detected movement and prompted the screen to display instructions for the cyclist. As the rider pedalled, the interactive application allowed users to browse through the design of the buildings and explore the positive environmental and social impact of living in the East Village.
The interactive participation of the campaign created a memorable user experience and following the initial success of The POD, three more Mini PODS were built and installed in railway stations around London during June and July.
To maximise the use of space on the exhibition stands, we also fitted the POD with a 65” multi-touch screen on the back casing offering further information about the sustainability and socially inclusive elements of the village.
